My favorite Golden Globe gowns...

The ladies bedecked the red carpet Sunday night with exceptionally gorgeous dresses. Simple silhouettes showcased magnificent fabric and sparkly, yet understated, detail. And although Hollywood is far from modest, there was definitely more skin covered than revealed, in most cases. I thought January Jones' Versace gown was positively atrocious. I wasn't a huge fan of Jennifer Hewitt's ensemble either. Honestly, I'm surprised she's still around. Anyways, back to the lovely ladies...

My #1 favorite was actually Angelina's emerald gown. I'm not a fan of Angelina at all, but her dress gave a nod to the 40s and 70s...it had the feel of a modern Katharine Hepburn mixed with the magic of Oz.

Anne Hathaway's dress hugged every curve perfectly. She looked fantastic.

Emma Stone plays hardball comedy in her films, but her simple Calvin Klein was sheer peach perfection. I can't wait to see her style evolve.

Sandra's bangs may have been a bit much, but her dress looked comfy and elegant. It was swinging.

The Talented Miss Mulligan...

Vogue's November cover girl is "The Talented Miss Mulligan" a.k.a. rising young 25 year old actress Carey Mulligan.

I've only seen Carey as a leading lady in "An Education" and as a supporting actress in "Pride & Prejudice". If that's all I ever see of her I won't be satisfied and neither will the rest of the cinematic scene. I found "An Education" poignant and irresistible. She mixes innocence and experience to create a perfect personification of a young woman defining life in her own terms.

I am excited to see her performances in "Wall Street" and "Never Let Me Go". The Vogue article is exactly what I would love to write. It's intuitive and fresh. I have no idea how to get there, but maybe someday I will be able to write an article like that.

Aside from Carey's fantastic acting abilities, she is adorable. I love her hair. It makes me want to forgo growing mine out and chop it off instead. We'll see what I decide. I reside in limbo land. I cope by changing my hair. Perhaps if my outside reflects my instability things will be better. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm going to keep on trying...

An Amazing Jacket...

I am in LOVE with this jacket. Too bad it's $398 at Anthropologie. If I had money to blow I would go out and buy it right now. Then, Sarah would go buy herself one and we'd be twins and be happy. The end.
