General Conference

It's almost the weekend again and here I am getting caught up on last week!

Amy and I were the only ones home for Conference weekend so we snuggled up in our pajamas and blankets and listened to conference on-line and on the radio (that's what happens when you're college students who can't afford cable tv;-). It rained all weekend so it couldn't have been more perfect. Saturday morning we got up and went to McDonald's for breakfast, and then had Cafe Rio for dinner. In between sessions, Amy and I cleaned, napped, did homework, and watched movies.

There were so many good talks, but the ones that stuck out to me the most were L. Tom Perry's talk on the simplifying our lives, and President Uchtdorf's talk on hope. I found it very interesting that the simplifying our lives talk was the first talk of the first session. I know that is something I need to work and am constantly trying to obtain. I loved Perry's references to Thoreau and Emerson.

There seemed to be a lot of talks on maintaining the right perspective, having hope and courage, and being one with each other. I can't wait for the Ensign to come out so I can read the talks again, especially the ones I didn't hear so well as my internet spazzed out and kept buffering...ah technology!

On Sunday afternoon, Amy and I went over to Kevin and Jamie's house for dinner. Helen and Eric were there as well. We had stromboli for dinner and then played a wicked intense game of Phase 10.
